Youth Training Programs
USMSI provides a wide array of Youth and Veteran Training Programs. These programs are modular training courses (MTCs) geared to cover a variety of topics such as tying lines, radio transmission, vessel operations of all types, aids to navigation, environmental research, and sustainable, emergency, and disaster response skills. We also provide courses in engine and vehicle maintenance, vessel repair and rigging of all types. All students are trained in first aid, CPR, and automated defibrillation (AED) along with a great many other added skills. These are hands on proctored modules and extensive training courses. The goal is to provide continuing education and workforce development programs that will create economic opportunity while providing the local communities' youth and veterans with skills covering a wide range of aptitudes in our many fields of expertise.
