Improving our marine environment through action & education
From restoring coastal habitats to improving water quality, over the years USMSI has worked with over 7,000 student volunteers from 104 different universities and colleges who collectively put in over 210,000 hours of service with the following results:
* removed 7 tons of debris from rivers and estuaries
* cleaned over 60 miles of shoreline
* restored and rebuilt 133 miles of trails
* restored and rebuilt 795 homes
* mentored 1,100 youth
We would love to add such volunteer opportunities to our current communities.
